FCC RF Exposure Rules
New rules regarding human exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy went into effect on May 3, 2021. Amateur stations must comply with the rules by May 3, 2023. Speaking in general terms, station operators need to know how far people need to be away from a transmitting antenna to avoid harmful RF exposure and take measures to enforce that minimum distance.
No paperwork needs to be submitted to the FCC. Most hams are already in compliance with the rules, so all they need to do is calculate the minimum safe distance using an online tool.
